Job Description: Private Credit/Asset-Based Finance Associate or VP
Firm Overview: My client is a leading $90 billion AUM firm with a diverse range of alternative investment strategies. They are expanding their asset-based finance private credit team to work across a wide variety of deals, including real assets, energy, infrastructure, and more esoteric consumer lending.
Position: Private Credit/Asset-Based Finance Associate or Vice President
Location: New York, NY
Role Summary: My client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join their growing asset-based finance private credit team. The successful candidate will play a key role in sourcing, structuring, and executing a broad range of transactions, as well as managing and monitoring portfolio investments. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse and complex deals, contributing to the firm's strategic growth in the private credit space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deal Origination: Identify and source new investment opportunities across various sectors, including real assets, energy, infrastructure, and consumer lending.
- Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence, including financial analysis, market research, and risk assessment.
- Structuring and Execution: Lead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of asset-based finance transactions, ensuring alignment with the firm's investment criteria and risk appetite.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage portfolio investments, providing ongoing support to portfolio companies and ensuring compliance with investment terms.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with borrowers, intermediaries, and other market participants.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior team members and other departments to support the overall growth and success of the asset-based finance private credit team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
- 3.5GPA or higher
- Experience:
- Associate: 3-5 years of experience in private credit, asset-based finance, investment banking, or a related field.
- Vice President: 7-10 years of experience with a proven track record in private credit, asset-based finance, or related areas.
- Skills:
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
