• Minimum of 10 years of underwriting experience and 5 years of leadership experience
• Must have experience in Stop Loss underwriting and in the Captive world
• Located or willing to re-locate in Denver or Phoenix
• Lead and manage the health care underwriting team, ensuring high performance and providing guidance and support.
• Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistent risk assessment and compliance with regulations.
• Analyze health care insurance applications, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements while collaborating with actuarial, claims, and sales teams.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and adjust underwriting practices as needed, reviewing and approving large and complex applications.
• Mentor and train junior underwriters, conduct audits for quality and compliance, and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and re insurers.
