Deep Tech Investment Associate
Key Responsibilities:
- Deal Sourcing and Market Research: Conduct in-depth research on emerging deep-tech trends, sectors (e.g. AI, robotics, biotech, clean tech, quantum computing), and startups. Identify new investment opportunities that align with the firm's investment strategy.
- Due Diligence: Lead and support the due diligence process for potential investments, evaluating both technical and financial aspects. This includes market analysis, technology assessments, competitor research, and assessing the scalability and potential of the startup.
- Financial Modelling and Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate investment opportunities. Perform detailed financial analysis, including valuations, projections, and risk assessments.
- Investment Documentation: Prepare investment memos, presentations, and other materials to communicate findings to the investment committee and other stakeholders.
- Portfolio Monitoring and Support: Assist in monitoring and supporting portfolio companies. Help track progress and provide strategic insights to foster growth and operational improvements.
- Networking and Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the deep-tech ecosystem, including startups, entrepreneurs, researchers, and industry experts.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) from a reputable university. Advanced degrees (Master's, PhD) are highly preferred.
- Experience:
- Prior experience in venture capital, investment banking, corporate development, or deep-tech-related fields is a plus.
- Strong interest in deep-tech sectors with a demonstrated ability to understand and evaluate complex technologies.
- Experience in financial modeling, analysis, and due diligence is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- Skills:
- Strong technical acumen and the ability to understand emerging technologies and their commercial potential.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to assess market and financial data accurately.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
