A leading Investment Bank in NYC is looking to bring on a Director level candidate to support the broader Market Risk function in a governance capacity.
This hire will be responsible for the organization and coordination of all risk activities and initiatives for the US, and directly support the US CRO. This person will have significant visibility to the firm, as they will be responsible for working directly with other Senior Risk Managers to enhance the current Market Risk Framework, as well as engage on projects relating to regulatory requirements, audit issues, and risk committee governance.
Ideal candidates would have 8-10+ years of experience in a Market Risk or Risk Governance role, familiarity with Market Risk frameworks, Governance policy, regulatory standards from a Market Risk perspective, and previous experience working on risk committees and various projects for risk management.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate risk management activities for senior leadership and business leaders
- Escalate risk matters to the Head of Market Risk and the CRO
- Manage risk committee frameworks including engaging with other stakeholders to track action items
- Work with internal and external stakeholders on exam monitoring, fostering a positive relationship with internal audit and external regulators
- Manage issues for Market Risk, including issues stemming from the audit process and regulators. Work with internal stakeholders to track remediation plans
- Help enhance current Market Risk Governance framework and policies
Qualifications:
- 8-10+ YOE in a Market Risk or Risk Governance role
- Familiarity with various Market Risk metrics/topics (VaR, XVA, Valuation Methodology, Derivatives Pricing, Stress Testing)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Market Risk
- Previous experience working as a Project Manager/Leader on various Market Risk initiatives
- Experience working directly with internal audit and external regulators from the FRB, NFA, etc.
