Director of Structured Finance

Position Summary:
The Director of Structured Finance coordinates cross-functional project teams to develop financing solutions for regulatory entities, leads and manages accounting and reporting functions on assigned structured finance transactions, reviews and analyzes transaction information ensuring accuracy of data and design, and evaluates and recommends improvements to efficiency for internal financing processes. The required work location is St. Louis, MO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a project team of professionals (including investments, legal, and other corporate partners) to structure and complete complex reinsurance transactions.
- Coordinate the processes of analyzing transactions through interaction with various technical experts in structured finance, accounting, legal, investments, tax, etc.
- Lead negotiations with external parties to meet financing needs and implement legal entity optimization strategies.
- Establish processes to ensure financing transactions and support processes are implemented and administered properly.
- Work with business units to identify potential financing needs and design solutions, including reinsurance structures, securities lending, and structured asset designs.
- Oversee and manage other team members and direct reports, improving processes and responding to customer needs.
- Perform financial reporting functions related to structured finance transactions, including recording financial activity, creating reports, and reconciling accounts.
- Support internal control and audit compliance processes, maintaining documentation and leading coordination of audit requests.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, with emphasis in accounting, finance, or actuarial science, or equivalent related work experience.
- 8+ years of experience in accounting, auditing, or structured finance.
- Intermediate understanding of the US life insurance and reinsurance markets.
- Advanced skills in investigative analysis, innovation, and critical thinking.
- Ability to design and structure financing solutions that meet risk/return requirements and regulatory needs.
- Highly advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Strong customer relationship management and change management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Advanced persuasion and negotiation skills.
- Ability to make timely and effective decisions and produce results.
- Flexibility to work across multiple time zones and travel domestically and internationally (< 20%).
Compensation:
- Base salary range: $125,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
