We are seeking a highly experienced Director with a background in syndication, particularly focusing on EM, Fixed income. This individual will play a key role in sourcing, structuring, and executing transactions, driving capital markets initiatives, and developing deep relationships with issuers and investors.
Key Responsibilities:
Capital Markets Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement capital markets strategies to support the hedge fund's objectives in emerging markets, investment-grade, and FIG securities.
- Oversee the end-to-end process of capital raising and syndication efforts, from origination to execution.
- Lead debt capital markets (DCM) activities, including new issuance, pricing, and placement of bonds, especially within the EM and IG space.
- Leverage expertise in financial institutions (FIG) to structure and manage bond issuance and capital solutions for banks, insurance companies, and other financial institutions.
- Monitor market conditions, including interest rate environments, spreads, and geopolitical events, to anticipate opportunities and risks in the EM/IG/FIG space.
Syndication & Relationship Management:
- Utilize a strong syndication background to manage investor relationships, particularly with large institutional investors, family offices, and pension funds.
- Manage relationships with global investment banks, syndicate desks, and issuers, ensuring seamless deal execution and optimal placement.
- Drive distribution efforts to ensure efficient capital allocation, targeting high-quality investors interested in emerging market and FIG securities.
4Market & Risk Analysis:
- Conduct thorough market analysis, focusing on credit conditions, ratings, liquidity, and macroeconomic factors affecting the EM/IG/FIG sectors.
- Assess and mitigate risk on new transactions, leveraging quantitative models and market intelligence to evaluate creditworthiness and structural risks.
- Provide the investment committee with actionable insights and recommendations based on current market dynamics, issuer risk profiles, and investor demand.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure all transactions are aligned with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Collaborate with internal traders, analysts, and portfolio managers to deliver integrated solutions that optimize investment outcomes.
Key Qualifications:
Experience:
- 13+ years of experience in capital markets, with a specific focus on syndication, in EM fixed income.
- Proven track record in debt capital markets (DCM) with experience originating, structuring, and syndicating bonds.
- Significant experience working on the syndication desk of a leading investment bank, with hands-on deal execution responsibility.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. An MBA or CFA designation is preferred.
