Responsibilities:
- Work with third-party tax advisors to develop and implement effective tax strategies.
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation that may impact the firm and provide guidance on necessary actions.
- Serve as the firm's tax expert, offering insights on transactions and new business initiatives with tax implications.
- Collaborate closely with external tax advisors to optimize tax strategies while ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Oversee fund accounting operations, including the preparation of financial statements and investor reports.
- Collaborate with external fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Prepare and file accurate quarterly and annual tax returns, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate smooth and efficient audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- CPA designation or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a public accounting firm, ideally at a managerial level.
- Strong understanding of tax code, compliance issues, and filing procedures for federal and state taxes.
- Experience in private credit, private equity, or real estate is preferred.
- Proficient in managing tax for private fund structures (LPs), joint ventures, and private REITs.
