We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to take on the role of Head of Compliance & AML for the Frankfurt branch of an international banking group. Key Responsibilities:
As the Head of Compliance & AML, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all compliance and AML activities for the Frankfurt branch of the international banking group. Your primary duties will include:
- Developing and implementing compliance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adherence to BaFIN regulations and international compliance standards.
- Leading a team of compliance professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of compliance excellence.
- Conducting regular risk assessments and ensuring that appropriate measures are in place to mitigate compliance risks effectively.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to provide compliance guidance and support for new business initiatives and products.
- Keeping abreast of evolving regulatory requirements, industry trends, and best practices, and proactively adapting the compliance program accordingly.
- Interacting with regulatory authorities, including BaFIN, and managing regulatory examinations and inquiries.
- Overseeing AML efforts, including customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, and reporting suspicious activities in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFE) preferred.
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in compliance and AML roles within the financial services sector.
- Previous exposure to BaFin, exprience as an MLRO would be preferred.
- Proven experience in leading and managing compliance teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and make sound decisions.
- Fluent English and German language skills, both written and spoken.
