Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Japan office, ensuring alignment with the broader strategic goals of the company.
- Focus primarily on asset management, with limited involvement in investment activities.
- Manage a diverse team of professionals, ensuring effective collaboration across different functions, including property management, finance, and leasing.
- Oversee the management of nine freehold office properties across Tokyo, Yokohama, and Chiba, ensuring operational efficiency, financial performance, and tenant satisfaction.
- Drive business development and generate new business opportunities by leveraging an extensive network and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Japanese real estate market.
- Communicate regularly with headquarters and senior management in Singapore, reporting on performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, market trends, and cultural nuances in all dealings.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Strong background in asset management, preferably with commercial real estate experience (retail, logistics, or other assets like office buildings preferred)
- Fluent in Japanese with the ability to navigate both local and international communication styles.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams, with a proven track record of driving results across diverse departments.
- A deep understanding of the Japanese real estate market, including market dynamics, key players, and trends.
- Ability to network effectively and generate new business leads through relationships and market presence in Japan.
- High level of resilience and problem-solving ability to navigate the challenges in the Japanese market.
- International exposure or experience working in a multi-cultural environment is preferred.
- Experience in business development and managing client relationships in a commercial real estate context.
