An institutional asset manager is hiring their first Head of Operational Risk to work out of their Boston office on a hybrid schedule.
The firm has a long track record of running unique systematic strategies across asset classes, flexibly tailoring investment strategies to align with client demands and market trends. Recently, the business and senior leadership decided to establish a centralized team and build out this risk management function from scratch.
You'll be working with the Head of Risk Management as well as internal/external stakeholders to fully design and implement policies and procedures that will drive returns for clients and enable continuous, scale-able business growth. The ideal candidate is someone who wants to roll up their sleeves, be a part of a flat org structure, and help to transform an already high performing asset management business.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of buy side experience; 10+ years preferred
- Asset management industry expertise - all aspects of the investment life cycle and cross-functional interaction
- Professional background in operational or enterprise risk, risk consulting, or audit/accounting for an asset management firm or a bank's asset management arm
- Strong examples of leadership and internal/external collaboration
- Self-starter who wants to build a risk function from the ground up
