Position Overview:
As a Health Actuary in this organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping their healthcare strategies, pricing models, and risk assessments. This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the underwriting team, C-Suite, risk adjustment team, data science team, and other components of a health plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pricing and Rate Analysis: Collaborate on the development and maintenance of health insurance pricing models, ensuring competitive yet sustainable rates for our products.
- Reserving and Financial Projections: Assist in the calculation of insurance reserves, analyzing emerging trends, and contributing to accurate financial projections.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about healthcare regulations and ensure that our products and practices are in compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Data Analytics: Utilize advanced statistical tools and software to analyze healthcare data, identify trends, and provide insights that drive informed decision-making.
- Report Generation: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, conveying complex actuarial concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including underwriting, finance, and product development, to provide actuarial expertise and support business initiatives.
Qualifications:
- ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) designation required; near-ASA candidates will be considered.
- Strong knowledge of health insurance principles, including pricing, reserving, and risk assessment.
- Proficiency in actuarial modeling software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
