Investment Associate - Capital Markets
Location: Hong Kong
Job Summary: A leading private equity firm is seeking a motivated Associate to join its Capital Markets team. The firm specializes in buyouts and strategic investments in Chinese and international companies across the consumer, business services, TMT, and healthcare sectors. The Capital Markets team provides structured credit and equity solutions for private equity investments in public, private, minority, and control situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leveraged and Acquisition Finance:
- Collaborate with deal teams to identify optimal debt financing strategies and structures for new buyout and minority/growth transactions.
- Facilitate commercial and financial due diligence for lenders.
- Negotiate and document financing terms with legal counsels.
- Maintain relationships with lending banks.
M&A / Liquidity Management:
- Work with deal teams and management to optimize capital structures.
- Advise on and execute dividend recapitalizations, refinancings, back-leverage, spin-offs, restructurings, and buybacks to enhance Fund DPI and IRR.
- Lead trade sale/exit processes, including managing service providers.
ECM:
- Collaborate with deal teams and advisors to determine offer structures, bookbuild, and allocations for pre-IPO, IPO, and follow-on processes.
- Monitor positions and strategies for sell-downs and equity-linked trades.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in Investment Banking (IB) or Private Equity (PE), with a preference for leveraged finance and M&A backgrounds.
- Proficient in financial modeling and analysis.
- Adaptable and self-motivated fast learner.
- Degree from a reputable university.
- Native or near-native fluency in both Chinese (Putonghua) and English.
