Selby Jennings is partnering with a Cross-Border Boutique known for their practice in buy-side M&A at a global scale, with transaction focus in Asia/Europe and the U.S.
This boutique is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Managing Director to lead a new sell-side investment banking arm covering transactions in Consumer Manufacturing and Industrial Manufacturing in the Lower Middle Market (EV $5MM-$100MM) space. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and executing M&A transactions, developing client relationships, and driving business development initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage sell-side M&A transactions for lower middle market clients, from initial pitch through to closing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their strategic goals and providing tailored advisory services.
- Drive business development efforts to expand our client base and enhance our market presence in the LMM sector.
- Oversee financial modeling, valuation analysis, and preparation of marketing materials, including pitch books and confidential information memoranda.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of transactions and client engagements.
- Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to provide strategic insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in investment banking, with a focus on sell-side M&A transactions in the lower middle market.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and closing LMM transactions across various industries.
- Strong financial acumen with expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and market analysis.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with a history of mentoring and developing talent.
- Strong network within the lower middle market and a deep understanding of market dynamics.
