We're partnered with an elite business advisory shop as they look to hire a Managing Director of Sponsor Coverage. This hire will report directly to the CEO and provide consistent coverage to key sponsors, build and enhance sponsor relationships and support selling the full suite of situational capabilities and lifecycle solutions offered by the shop. The ideal candidate will have a deep network of private equity relationships and the ability to identify opportunities across various industries and practice lines. The Managing Director, Sponsor Coverage should be prepared to work within a small, collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with industry and functional experts across the various practice lines and in coordination with the broader Coverage team to secure new business and drive revenue growth
- Identify, lead and manage new and existing relationships with middle market focused private equity firms
- Partner with junior Coverage team members, Marketing and Data Analytics teams to develop content and collateral that enables proactive account management and cross-selling
- Stay up to date on market trends, regulatory developments and industry news and circulate information to relevant stakeholders
- Provide professional development coaching to junior team members as needed
- Share and manage best practices as well as lead internal trainings where required
- Support talent acquisition and firm development efforts as needed
- Contribute to creating a high-performing and inclusive culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a top undergraduate program
- Located in New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles.
- Invested in a team-based culture motivated to collaborate in office four days per week and willing to travel as needed
- 10 plus years of experience in financial sponsor coverage, investment banking or a similar financial advisory role
- Proven track record of originating opportunities from middle market Sponsors
- Extensive network within the private equity community and demonstrated success in developing and nurturing relationships
- Deep knowledge in private equity landscape, investment strategies and market influences
- Analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to assess opportunities based on market trends
- Ability to successfully work in a small, collaborative team environment
- Effectively communicates analysis through Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint including high-quality messaging, structure and formatting
- Responsive at all times
- Proven track-record of success in high pressure, time-constrained environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong e-mail etiquette
- Top-tier organizational skills and attention to detail
