Currently working with a global trading firm based out Chicago where you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside another designer to build out the UX at the firm. In this role, you will focus on improving and designing the Core Platform working alongside a global team of technologists who architect, build and maintain their proprietary trading platform. You will work on designing and optimizing the core trading engine as well as working across the front, middle and back office.
What You'll Do:
- Understand and analyze complex internal customer requirements and technological challenges to propose elegant UX solutions that are feature-rich yet user-friendly.
- Synthesize and present UX research to stakeholders, pinpointing areas for improvement and delivering on feature roadmaps.
- Utilize modern design tools, especially Figma, with a high degree of craft and UX focus to provide detailed specifications that cover workflow scenarios and accelerate engineering implementation.
- Contribute to and utilize an existing design system for a unified look-and-feel across a wide portfolio of applications, driving ongoing improvements to the component library.
Skills You'll Need:
- At least 5+ years of experience with a design tool such as Figma or Sketch
- Basic knowledge of front-end engineering frameworks for web and desktop applications
- Experience defining and understanding user stories
- Deep intuition around how to structure quality user experience flows
- Passionate about making applications beautiful and user-friendly
- Expertise with working with existing design languages such as Material UI
