Our client is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst with commercial and pricing experience to independently conduct analysis and guide junior staff for a wide range of financial and actuarial functions. This includes product pricing and rate reviews, financial planning, forecasting, trend analysis, provider reimbursement analysis, fee schedule development, and medical cost containment analysis. This is a senior-level position where you will take projects from inception to completion, working closely with various departments such as underwriting, sales, finance, and clinical services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex analytical tasks with minimal supervision.
- Develop and execute project plans to meet defined objectives.
- Collaborate with managers and stakeholders to define project goals and deliverables.
- Manage large projects and facilitate planning and review sessions.
- Utilize data systems and tools to complete analysis, develop code, and design technical solutions.
- Guide junior staff in developing project solutions and provide input on program code.
- Investigate and explain unexpected results, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Integrate data from multiple sources to provide insights in the larger business context.
- Handle ad-hoc projects and additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in the health insurance industry with significant commercial experience.
- Proficiency with relational databases, data warehouses, Excel, and statistical modeling.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently and manage complex tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration across multiple departments.
- Experience in actuarial analysis, including product pricing, rate reviews, and financial forecasting.
