Position Overview: My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Catastrophe Risk Modeler to join their team. In this hybrid role, you will play a critical part in assessing and managing catastrophe risks, and are well-prepared to handle potential losses from natural and man-made disasters. You will specifically focus on commercial property. Your analytical skills and industry knowledge will be essential in developing strategies to mitigate risks and protect our client's assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed catastrophe risk assessments and modeling using industry-standard tools and software.
Analyze and interpret data to identify potential risk exposures and trends.
Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and actuarial teams to develop and implement risk management strategies.
Monitor and report on emerging risks and industry developments.
Provide expert insights and recommendations to senior management on risk mitigation and transfer strategies.
Assist in the development and maintenance of catastrophe risk models and databases.
Participate in industry forums and stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Engineering).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in catastrophe risk analysis or a related role within the insurance industry.
Proficiency in catastrophe modeling software (preferably RMS).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
Professional certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM) are a plus.
