A global Hedge Fund is looking to hire a Software Developer to assist with backend development for their Distributed Systems team. The well-established firm is highly tech-driven, using cutting-edge technologies to run proprietary quantitative investment strategies across all asset classes. The firms success and high growth rate has led them to prioritize the extension of their Montreal based engineering teams.
The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience and high proficiency in Rust as well as either C or C++. The firm is prioritizing tech skills for the role, and therefore is not requiring previous experience in finance.
Responsibilities:
- Design scalable, production-grade distribution systems to be used by quants, traders, and other engineering partners
- Be an integral part of all stages of the SDLC for distributed systems
- Collaborate across various tech and engineering teams for all stages of the SDLC ranging from gathering requirements to production
- Proactively engage with key stakeholders across the front office, project management, and technology
- Take on ownership for the systems you've developed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years of full-time software development experience
- Proficiency in Rust
- Previous work experience in C or C++
- Experience with large datasets and/or highly accessible distributed systems
