Position Overview
An alternative asset manager in NYC is in search of a relationship-focused and meticulous professional to aid in corporate origination and client coverage. This individual will collaborate with senior team members to develop a corporate origination strategy that spans all of the firm's initiatives, enhancing deal flow and partnering with investment teams to drive transactions. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior team members to identify new origination channels and targets across various sectors and market themes.
- Originate, process, and conduct initial screenings to advance numerous investment opportunities.
- Discover and nurture investment themes to enhance the pipeline's quality and quantity.
- Assist in managing account coverage with investment banks, management teams, and other brokers/service providers.
- Work with investment teams to oversee execution, assisting in internal processes to advance deals and improve success rates.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the firm's capabilities and cross-platform transaction activities to effectively pitch the entire platform.
- Participate in industry events and conferences to build relationships.
- Utilize technology to track and measure relationship-building and deal flow activities in a CRM system, including assisting in quarterly reports summarizing team origination efforts and results.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant industry experience in consulting, investment banking, the buyside, or other transactional roles.
- Strong analytical skills and financial acumen to process large volumes of transactions.
- Team-oriented professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to take initiative on dynamic tasks and responsibilities.
- Nimble and flexible to balance multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
