Job Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced and strategic Commercial Lines Property and Casualty (P&C) Underwriting Manager to lead their underwriting team in managing commercial risk for businesses of all sizes. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing underwriting strategies, ensuring the profitability of commercial lines, and providing leadership to a team of underwriters. The Commercial Lines Underwriting Manager will work closely with brokers, agents, and other internal stakeholders to ensure sound underwriting practices, risk assessment, and efficient work flow.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial lines property and casualty underwriting, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial lines underwriting principles, pricing, risk assessment, and coverage options for businesses in diverse industries.
- Strong leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a team of underwriters to achieve performance goals and business objectives.
- In-depth understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements for commercial lines insurance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex commercial risks and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with brokers, agents, and clients.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis platforms.
- CPCU designation is preferred.
