Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President of Actuary to drive innovation and lead actuarial functions within our organization. This strategic role will focus on advancing value-based care and population health management while ensuring financial soundness and sustainability. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in ACO Reach and Medicare, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead actuarial functions including underwriting, reserving, and risk prediction to support value-based care and population health initiatives.
- Develop and implement policies aimed at minimizing costs, mitigating future risks, and informing pricing and underwriting decisions.
- Provide strategic leadership to actuarial teams, fostering collaboration, growth, and high performance across departments.
- Analyze and predict future risks to inform decision-making processes and ensure the financial stability of the organization.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine policies and strategies that support the organization's goals and enhance value-based care delivery.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Medicare and ACO Reach programs to ensure accurate, data-driven decision-making in pricing, underwriting, and risk management.
- Develop and oversee reporting packages to track performance and support strategic objectives in population health management.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices, ensuring the organization remains innovative and competitive in the value-based care space.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in actuarial functions, specifically in ACO Reach and Medicare.
- Strong leadership experience, including managing and mentoring a team of actuarial professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a focus on strategic goals.
- Advanced knowledge of underwriting, reserving, and risk management principles.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A deep understanding of population health management and value-based care principles.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make data-driven decisions that support long-term organizational success.
- Advanced degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, or related field (FSA or equivalent preferred).
