Job Summary:
The Senior Manager, Ceded Reinsurance is responsible for managing the ceded reinsurance program of the organization, ensuring the effective placement, administration, and compliance of reinsurance treaties and contracts. This position works closely with internal stakeholders such as underwriting, claims, and finance teams, as well as external reinsurers, brokers, and regulatory bodies to optimize the reinsurance strategy and mitigate risk.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the development, negotiation, and execution of ceded reinsurance treaties. Ensure they align with the company's risk appetite and overall financial goals.
Collaborate with internal teams and external brokers to structure reinsurance treaties, ensuring the terms and conditions provide optimal coverage while balancing cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with reinsurance agreements, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Monitor the performance of reinsurance contracts and recommend adjustments as necessary.
Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management regarding the performance of the ceded reinsurance program, including coverage utilization, claims experience, and financial impacts.
Act as the primary point of contact for reinsurers, brokers, and other external stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners to ensure effective reinsurance management.
Lead a team of reinsurance professionals, providing mentorship, training, and development opportunities to enhance team performance and career growth.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced certifications such as CPCU, ARM, or actuarial credentials are preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in reinsurance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, preferably in ceded reinsurance.
- Strong knowledge of reinsurance structures, treaty wording, and the ceded reinsurance market.
- Experience in managing relationships with reinsurers, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
